Samsung KX - Coal Drops Yard, Kings Cross

Samsung KX London’s newest experience space for local culture & innovation, a 20,000 sq. ft. brand showcase in the most iconic retail space in King’s Cross shopping district, Coal Drops Yard.

We were employed as consultants for Cheil to help Project manage the process, working closely with a large professional team on the infrastructure, interior finishes and especially on the bespoke furniture.

The impressive structure designed by Heatherwick Studio and the interiors designed with a collaboration of Cheil, Samsung, Brinkworth & KSS, the management of the whole team was critical to ensure we delivered to the clients brief.

The space is a single floor plate and is the anchor site for the whole development bringing together the two lines of Victorian buildings at the “Kissing point”.

A challenging, landmark project that delivers a one-of-a-kind experience, bringing together many innovative features such as, 1st in the world vertical concave Samsung screen weighting 975kg following a 6m radius 10.08m wide x 4.32m high consisting of 168 cabinets containing a total of 1008 LED tiles. It also houses, Galaxy Graffiti, Digital Cockpit, DJ Galaxy, VR racing, The Blue Pillars, Support Lounge, Mod Bar Café, Split Flap signage and many more elements.

There are 774 data points installed connected with 35.87 miles (69,600m) of cat6a cable and 320Kw of cooling capacity required to keep the infrastructure running.
